Mary, Brenna, and their family said good-bye to their career changed Lunar on July 6, 2017. He was Mary's 6th puppy, but their first puppy raised together as a family. He was career changed very shortly after returning to GDB for formal training due to cataracts and there was never any question about his coming home. During his time with them, he helped raise 16 puppies for GDB! He was a wonderful mentor and sweet, but grumbly fellow who will be sorely missed.
Below are the puppies who have since left this earth. Whether they became a guide dog or not, whether they returned back to us or not, whether they have lived a thousand year or not their passing always comes too soon. We miss them all very much but we know that they have crossed the bridge and are running free once more.
Nelson was Mary & Brenna's very first golden puppy from GDB. He came to them as a transfer and while he tried very hard, being a Guide Dog just wasn't for him. When he was Career Changed he was placed by his first raisers and lead a very happy life as a spoiled pet. His fur-ever family and raisers had to say good-bye to him in 2011 just before his 7th birthday. He was a very special boy and is missed dearly.
November 24, 2009 - October 3, 2014
Jen and her family had to say a very sudden good-bye to their special boy Kendrick due to cancer. He was a sweet, loving gentle giant who was a wonderful mentor to all GDB puppies who came after him. When he was Career Changed he came back to Jen and her family and was certified as a therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International. While his time with them was far too short, he spent his whole life being very much loved. He was only a month shy of his 5th birthday.

Kobe was a very special boy. He was PWAP's very first Career Changed puppy and over the years all of our puppies looked up to him. After his career change he helped raise 11 more Guide Dog Puppies, became a therapy dog, was an assisstant dog obedience class trainer, participated in agility and fly ball, and was a part of the 4-H dog care program. He will be very missed by all of PWAP and we are all lucky to have known him.
